About

Keystone Play started as a group chat between three friends who kept arguing about which tower defence map was unfair and which was just badly built. Instead of arguing forever, we began writing our thoughts down, and that turned into this site.

We are a small independent editorial team. Nobody hands us a schedule of what to cover — we pick games we actually want to play. Every review means somebody sat with the phone for several evenings, tried the hard difficulty, and lost a few times on purpose to see how the systems react.

Our focus is strategy and tower defence on smartphones, but we happily wander into RPGs, racing, and adventure titles when a game does something clever with its design. What matters to us is whether the mechanics hold up over time, not how shiny the trailer looked.

We write in plain language. If a game is grindy or the controls feel cramped, we say so. If something surprised us, we tell you why.

Marek Novák — Marek has been playing tower defence games since the flash era and now leads the Keystone Play editorial team. He tests most titles on a mid-range phone so reviews reflect what most readers actually own.
