Emberfall Legends

Emberfall Legends puts you in charge of a small band of adventurers crossing a fractured kingdom. Combat is turn-based and grid-free, focused on positioning your front line and timing skill cooldowns. It's approachable at first, then quietly gets deep once elemental weaknesses come into play.

The writing is better than we expected from a mobile RPG. Party members chat between fights, and their little arcs kept us reading instead of skipping. Progression is generous without being mindless — you level up often, but every point of gear feels earned.

There's some grinding in the mid-game, which we noted, but the auto-battle option handles the repetitive fights so you can save your attention for the tough ones. A solid pick for longer play sessions.
